Summary:

The Cafeteria Assistant works closely with the Cafeteria Director on a daily basis to accept, store, prepare and distribute breakfast, lunch and snacks during the school year; helps keep the cafeteria clean, sanitized and organized; interacts with students and staff on a daily basis; and is an integral part of our community.

Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the preparation of breakfast, lunch and snacks (most of the meals are delivered packaged fresh each morning)
  • Assist in keeping the environment clean, organized and sanitized
  • Meet daily with the Cafeteria Director regarding duties
  • Follow the state and federal regulations regarding preparing, cleaning, holding, storing and disposing of breakfast, lunch and snacks
  • Fulfill professional development requirements

Requirements:

  • CORI/SORI and fingerprinting required
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Hours are 7am-2:30pm when school is in session
  • Experience working in a food service environment

Preferred:

Servsafe Food Server Certificate

About the Banneker

The Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School is a K1 through grade 6 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) school serving all students.
