Cambridge Chapter NAACP- Recognizes Dr. Bretous

Announcing Dr. Sherley Bretous as the Recipient of the Drum Major for Education Award

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sherley Bretous has been honored with the Drum Major for Education Award by the NAACP Cambridge Chapter, under the leadership of President Kenneth Reeves and Vice President Richard Harding. This prestigious award was presented to Dr. Bretous during the annual MLK Brunch at the Harvard School of Law.

Dr. Bretous’s dedication to education and tireless advocacy for equal opportunities in learning have had a profound impact on the community. Her leadership and commitment to shaping future generations truly embody the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision.

The event, which brought together distinguished attendees such as Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Representative Marjorie Decker, and an online address by Senator Ed Markey, was a celebration of education, progress, and social justice. The keynote address was delivered by Sara Bleich, a powerful voice in the fight for public health equity. Dr. Bretous was also joined by members of the Banneker staff, who attended in support of her remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to Dr. Sherley Bretous on this well-deserved recognition. Her work continues to inspire and make lasting change in the lives of many.
