Technology Professional Development!
On March 19 and 26 we will be doing another two-part technology workshop on the following topics. Please sign up below for the session you want to attend and let me know if you have any questions.
Planning Technology Based Projects
Anesta Hicks & Jared Perrine
Ms. Johnson's Room
We will be covering some of the technology resources that we have at Banneker, going over the Instructional Technology standards, and giving examples of some good integrated lessons. Time will be giving to work on an integrated technology lesson that you will actually teach between the 19th and 26th. We will then report back to the group about how the lesson went (a chance to share ideas).
Designing Flip Charts
Mr. Duhaime's Room
Mr. D. will be reviewing how to use the ActivInspire software and partake in an ActiVote session. People with access to a Promethean board (or who plan to use the one in the computer lab) are recommended to this session.
New iPad Apps
Ms. Collins' Room
Ms. Collins' will be going over some of the new apps that we installed on the SPED iPads, the Tech Cabinet iPads, the classroom iPads, and the cart iPads: iTunes University, Photon (a flash browser), Scholastic Storia, Opposite Ocean (antonyms), Handwriting Without Tears, One More Story, Mycreate, Endless Alphabet. She will also talk about two new features of iOS 6.1: Guided Access and Attaching Pictures and Videos to an email (administrators might be interested in this last piece).
Website Open Lab Time
Our website reminders and suggestions will go out later this week. If there is something you would like some time and/or help on for your classroom or departmental site, this is a good time to work on it.
